Description

Simpson Strong-Tie HDU4-5DS2.5 Predeflected Holdown is designed for use in shearwalls and braced-wall panels, as well as other lateral applications in wood construction. It is made of galvanized steel and uses Strong-Drive SDS Heavy-Duty Connector screws which install easily, reduce fastener slip, and provide a greater net section area of the post compared to bolts. The holdown is predeflected during the manufacturing process, virtually eliminating deflection under load due to material stretch. It has a no-stud bolt design, which eliminates the need to countersink stud bolts at openings. The holdown is 48 inches wide and 100 feet long.
